The Damond Motorsports Rear Motor Mount is a must have for any car enthusiast seeking to plant power more directly to the pavement.  Taking what we’ve learned on the Mazdaspeed3 platform, we have successfully integrated our formidable rear motor mount design over to the Volvo C30, S40, V50, and C70 platforms. 

If you're looking for a no compromise rear motor mount that will drastically reduce wheel hop and engine movement, improve shifting and clutch pedal feel, this is the mount for you.

The Damond Motorsports RMM starts life as a solid chunk of alloyed aluminum.  Once it’s machined to size we add a pair of off the shelf bushings sourced from the market leader of polyurethane bushings.  These bushings are arranged so they only see compressive loads, as they are designed for. No twisting, no bending, and no edge loading mean that the bushings will have a long and productive life.

Put it in myself on my 2008 mazda 3 w/ 190k miles. The online Instructions were easy to follow (tip: gently support- but dont raise- the engine with a jack and block of wood before removing any bolts, otherwise the engine will twist and the holes will become misaligned and itll be a bitch to get out or in. The intructions didnt mention this, but I learned from watching youtube vids beforehand lol) ...

My car feels like a sports car now, no joke. Shifting is way smoother without the engine flopping around. From inside, it almost sounds like I put in an exhaust in, it's louder but in a good way. Before, the engine was so quiet I had to watch the tach to know when to shift, now I can go by sound while still having my music up... Also, it eliminated this annoying af jerkiness/ lurching that happened every time I went on or off the throttle in gears 1-3...

The vibes aren't bad at all (I got the street stiffness). I only really feel it a lot on startup, at idle, and when engine braking. Its completely smooth on the highway or rmps below 2.5k (for reference, the passenger mount has been replaced with an oem style aftermarket one, and the TMM is still the original, which I'll be replacing with another Damond mount). I expect the vibes would be way more intense if you had all three Damond, or the racing stiffness. My original rear mount wasn't even in that bad of a shape, so I'm impressed with how much this changed the feel of the car despite the old one not even being broken. But, I think leaving the passenger mount soft really helped keep the vibes from being too crazy...

I did a lot of research before settling on this, and I think it's definitely earned all the hype it got on the Mazda forums I read. If you just want your daily to feel as sporty as possible without completely ruining it's comfort, then this is the one.

Firmed up car a lot.

I have an 11 speed3 with about 121k miles on it. This mount definitely made things feel a lot more firm/put together. Factory mount was torn and probably not even doing anything anymore. There is definitely noticeable noise/vibration over stock. You can hear everything. So if you don't like that or are one of those people that get paranoid over every little noise your car makes I do not recommend this for you. I mean you hear everything. Tire noise on the highway, the sound of your gears when downshifting, just random little hums and frequencies the rubber mount drown out stuff like that. It made my car drive a lot better. Shifting is way more precise now. I used to have a little slop between shifts, but that's mostly gone now. I've also put a couple 100 miles on this as I'm writing this review and the harshness is not nearly as noticeable. Not sure if I'm just used to it or it's taming down like others have said. Personally, I think it's a mix of both. Good mod for not a lot of money especially on an aging platform.
