Focus ST Sound Symposer Delete Kit
The Damond Motorsports Sound Symposer Delete kit for the Focus ST, is an all comprehensive kit, to remove the factory sound symposer system on the ST.
The factory sound symposer system, plumbs in engine noises to the cabin, that are less appealing than the actual tones of induction and exhaust the vehicle produces. Also higher boost levels can damage components of the factory system, causing boost leaks.
Our Sound Symposer Delete kit includes all you need to remove the factory sound symposer, and then some! Each black or gold anodized SSD plate comes with an 1/8" NPT plug and hose barb(for an easy access to engine vacuum/boost for monitoring or controllers), mounting bolts, 2 o-rings(in case one is lost so a replacement is readily available), and a flexible plastic plug for the firewall.
Quality part and delivered in a timely manner. 10/10 would recommend
By far the best symposer delete kit! The quality is top notch and comes with everything you need including a cap for the hole through the firewall which a lot of other companies do not include. Install was very easy and provides a great vacuum source for my blow off valve
This symposer delete kit is definitely made of quality materials and construction. It included everything for the install except a ziptie to keep the factory wiring tucked away after removing the control unit. Overall, it is an easy install and a great purchase for anyone with a focus st that wants to get rid of the factory symposer.
function - it works at least for awhile and cleans up the engine bay.
some design improvement recommendations:
1. make a model without the center port, it was really hard to get the center plug provided screwed in. It was really really tight i think because of the included loctite around threads and I could never get it to be flush. I was nervous about it leaking....
2. I noticed at least on mine it started to slow leak after 1000 miles. when removed the o-ring seemed to be a little crushed and I think could be a little bit thicker (in terms of OD thickness diameter of ring) i don't think it was leaking from the center port but on the side.
I try to support local made in USA companies.
Damond makes alot of cool products for our cars!
overall it does the job
