The Damond Motorsports Sound Symposer Delete kit for the Focus ST, is an all comprehensive kit, to remove the factory sound symposer system on the ST.
The factory sound symposer system, plumbs in engine noises to the cabin, that are less appealing than the actual tones of induction and exhaust the vehicle produces. Also higher boost levels can damage components of the factory system, causing boost leaks.
Our Sound Symposer Delete kit includes all you need to remove the factory sound symposer, and then some! Each black or gold anodized SSD plate comes with an 1/8" NPT plug and hose barb(for an easy access to engine vacuum/boost for monitoring or controllers), mounting bolts, 2 o-rings(in case one is lost so a replacement is readily available), and a flexible plastic plug for the firewall.
Quick and easy/straightforward removal of symposer and install of block off plate with or without vacuum bung for your needs and fire wall block off plug. Great first mod to do. Cleans the looks of the engine bay up nicely and allows for true vacuum if/when needed. Highly recommend.

Great symposer delete. Upgrade from the Steeds product because this product has a bung for a vacuum fitting. I utilized the fitting to run a line from the plate to my HKS BOV for a true vacuum source. 5 stars, wells deserved. Also incredibly fast shipping, arrived less than 48hours after order.

The Damond Motorsports SSD plate is machined and finished very well, and I like that it is not excessively thick. Kudos for including a plug for the firewall. It blows my mind how several other companies don't include this with theirs. The reason I knocked my rating down a star is because I could not get this thing to seal with either of the included o-rings. I went out and purchased a 1 7/16" OD x 1 1/4" ID x 3/32" H o-ring and that seems to have done the job after re-installing (fits the groove in the plate perfectly).
It looks like the issue was that the lower side of the plate was not close enough to the mating surface on the intake manifold when seated with the included o-rings (see the pictures below). Hard to tell if it's something to do with my intake manifold, but I suspect the threaded brass inserts are not aligned correctly from the factory. Time will tell if the thicker o-ring will hold. It might be good to include both the standard and a thicker o-ring in future kits, just in case?
Thanks for your feedback Ryan! Your manifold does seem a little curved there where it mounts. We'll look into doing a thicker o-ring with these.
