While cosmetically they still look fresh and new, some of them are seeing their age catch up to them a bit. A common failure point on these cars is the foam isolator bushing in the rear-upper shock mounts. Over time, these foam bushings get compressed and start to degrade, with some eventually just completely disintegrating (seen above), which then leads to knocking in the rear end and increased tire wear.
In the past, the only option there has been to replace these foam bushings is to purchase entirely new top mounts — which can run north of $200 a piece (ouch).
This is why we have created our PFR57-830 Rear-Upper Top Mount Isolator Bushings.
Utilizing our yellow, 70A durometer polyurethane, these bushings are a cost effective, “fit and forget” replacement that also stiffens the mounts up a bit to improve handling and reduce tire wear.
We also offer these pieces in our Black Series, 95A durometer polyurethane for more track/motorsport-focused applications.
