The Damond Motorsports Oil Catch Can is one of the lightest and most well constructed OCCs on the market. This Universal OCC kit is perfect for those looking for a high quality OCC, hose and hardware, to make for an easy install.

Parts included:

The Damond Motorsports OCC features:
  • Extremely light weight, 0.75-0.9lbs 338-408g
  • Fully welded external aluminum structure.
  • Welded on barb ports, sizes available 3/8" or 5/8"
  • Welded on mounting base with two M6 threaded holes(bolts and bracket included)

The Magic inside the OCC: 

  • Layers and layers and layers of perforated baffle plates(3 layers total), allowing a large surface area for blow-by vapors to latch onto and keep the intake tract clean. The bottom layer features an oil deflector. Blow-by is forced directly onto the deflector, while the air is pushed around the sides of the can to the back of the lower chamber. The air is then drawn up diagonally through the 3 perforated plates, trapping and condensing any remaining blow-by, before clean air exits the top chamber. 

OCC Variations:

  • Sealed: Sealed OCC with threaded plug on top. Top suggested choice.
  • 1-way VTA Vent: 1-way vent valve threaded on top of the OCC concealed by a high quality high-flow filter. Pressure can only vent from the OCC. Ideal for some boosted applications where crankcase pressure is an issue. If the OCC will see boost pressure an in-line check valve is recommended.
  • Straight Vent: Straight thru fitting on top of the OCC concealed by a high quality high-flow filter, allowing for free flow venting. Ideal for high power racing applications, which need to vent the crankcase.

Universal OCC

Great customer service - pretty much individual attention. I purchased a universal catch can kit for my 2022 Mazda 3 2.5 Direct Injection Turbo. After doing some research I came to the conclusion that the DM OCC solution made the most engineering sense for what I wanted (protect the engine as much as possible from valve deposits). Found a reasonable mounting place with the universal bracket - just about fit, though the kit could have come with 6" of extra hose. Note with the sealed OCC there are a couple of mounting options - with the vent there is only one. The trickiest part was getting access to the PCV valve - it is possible to do the install without the headache of taking off the manifold - but you will still need to remove the throttle body bolts to move it out of the way. Very impressed with the DM kit and especially their service. Emptying it should be relatively easy - pop off a few clips around the fender liner and reach in to access the valve. I made a small hole in the plastic splash guard to leave 1/2" of drain hose poking through. With the popularity of the Mazda 3T it is probably worth with DM to add that as one of the ready made kits.
