Damond Motorsports Oil Catch Can kits come with everything needed for an optimized Oil Catch Can system. An oil catch can is, in a sense, a filter for the positive crankcase ventilation system. The oil catch can(OCC for short) is used to tap and contain blow-by oils and condenced crankcase gases, that would otherwise flow throught the PCV system back into the intake tract, and allows for drainng of these fluids remotely. With the addition of an OCC kit, blow-by oils and gasses are routed to the OCC allowing them to be caputred. This prevents the blow-by from entering the intake system, where it would otherwise contaminate the clean air entering the engine. Cleaner air leads to better combustion, more power, better fuel ecnomy, less detonation, and less oily build-up.

Only high quility components are used in the Damond Motorsports OCC kits. Our OCC kits come tailored to fit your Mazdaspeed perfectly, for a no-hastle, quick and simple instillation. Each OCC kit includes a check valve, to prevent boost from possibly entering the crankcase, via the prone to leaking OEM PCV valve. The check valve allows for a 1-way opperation of the OCC system, keeping everything under vacuum, to better help vent the crankcase. 
Included in each Damond Motorsports OCC kit:

-Quick-opening/high-flowing check valve, assembled/sealed with fittings
-Pre-cut oil and vacuum resistant hoses (black, blue, or red)
-Location specific bracket, and mounting hardware
-Slim stainless steel hose clamps

The DM OCC features:
-Fully welded external aluminum structure. Welded on ports for a nice clean look, and to keep weight at a minimum. 
-Layers and layers and layers of perforated baffle plates, allowing a large surface area for blow-by vapors to latch onto and keep the intake tract clean. The bottom layer features an oil scraper. Blow-by is forced directly onto the scraper, while the air is pushed around the sides of the can to the back of the lower chamber. The air is then drawn up diagonally through 3 more perforated plates, before it exits the top chamber. 
-A super easy to use high flowing drain valve.
-Optional DM partial VTA valve and filter OCC set-up(recommended for high boost applications). 
-Powder coated for enhanced durability.
With all Damond Motorsports OCC kits, you have many options. For the Mazdaspeeds there are different mounting locations. This way you can pick the location that works best for you, and your vehicle’s pre-existing modifications. You also have the choice of 3 different possible hose colors: Black, Blue, and Red.

Great quality Part

Easy to install ( With the intake mani off for valve cleaning). nice quality hoses. The OCC itself was a really rigid and high quality part that was powder coated perfectly. It was so nice I almost didn't want to put it on the car. The nice ball valve and included hose attachment for draining makes for easy and tidy emptying of caught oil. The installation directions were a bit confusing, especially since I wasn't installing from under the car. It was difficult to figure out what the photos were looking at.

The craftsmanship was top notch, installation was fairly simple, granted I had the intake manifold off to do a valve cleaning already so that simplified things further. I'm happy with it so far.

Oil Catch Can: A Great Catch!

As a Master Machinist I can attest to the quality of the materials used and the craftsmanship of the catch can nice welds clean look and nice heavy layer of powder coating. Well done! I await receipt of my stage 2 catch can that I just ordered.

Solid Part, Easy Install

The catch can, valve, and hoses are clearly well made parts. Putting them in took me the same amount of time as an oil change (I know because I changed my oil while doing it). Didn't have to remove the manifold, just took off the skid plate and came up from underneath. Getting the stock PCV hose was the hardest part, since it hadn't moved for years. After that, routing the hoses and mounting the can was a breeze.

Awesome product!

This is a super light and durable item. I was very pleased with the first one that I bought, so when I upgraded to a much bigger turbo and set up which needed dual catch cans, I knew where I was going to get it. I would highly recommend this product.
